Watching Paul Verhoeven’s Robocop. It has everything: social commentary, humor, great cinematography, nonstop action, still awesome special effects, and perfectly choreographed set pieces. And if you don’t care about any of this, the film is just bloody entertaining.
The colors, the pace, the music—everything here works and makes current sci-fi (is there any, really?) look absolutely childish. This was really filmmaking at its best, so why the hate? Is it because it is an 80s action flick? It is currently available on HBO.
